Due I got some interest on my HDR pictures to process them differently I did start this topic.
Rule will be simple week by week winner can send some HDR raw material and we try it to process how we like it, winner will be who get more vote than others, final decision in OP poster hand always and winner can send new stuff to process.
Rule exactly same like here

Great Idea: I've always been intrigued by hdr but I rarely have ideas on how to apply the process.
I like HDRs that don't look too much like HDRs, so here's my attempt:

I agree with Carsten. The goal ought not to be a photo that "looks like a typical HDR",
but a photo where maximum details have been rescued from the shadows as
well as from the highlights. With this in mind, wouldn't it be nice to see more of
the guy who is standing in the doorway? |

Carsten's work is best so far for me.
Note however how even in the less evident HDR image, the result always looks flat, as if a huge fill flash was fired on the scene.
The light becomes less directional and all days, even sunny days, or days with a mix of clouds and patches of blue, look like overcast days.
This may or may not be people's liking. Except for limited cases, I like my landscapes to have depth and "pop", with brilliant highlights and deep shadows. This obviously contradicts the HDR philosophy. _________________ Orio, Administrator

Thank you Orio.
I searched for a free hdr software, as I don't have potoshop and Canon's Digital Photo Professional software hdr tool gave poor results.
I found "Luminance HDR qtpfsgui " http://qtpfsgui.sourceforge.net/
After some time understanding how it works, I found it interesting by the different treatments proposed.
I then end up the treatment in Nik software Snapseed.
Pictures gallery of one of the HDR main developers of this software : http://www.flickr.com/photos/davideanastasia/
HDR pictures of him : http://www.flickr.com/photos/davideanastasia/sets/72157622257277612/
He seems to be italian. _________________ Olivier - Moderator
