Let me begin by saying I debated whether to actually post any of these. I'm not too happy with how they came out. The entire roll was taken around dusk. I was right at the edge of needing a slower than 1/30th sec speed (which is not advisable with the Pentacon) even with the Flek wide-open. A film other than Ektar 100 would have probably been better Rolling Eyes

Some of the negatives were pretty thin. When I pulled it out originally I thought it was an issue with development but some are fine so they were probably just underexposed. The two I'm showing came out a little grainy because of underexposure.

Stasia was not really in the mood for pictures but of course I wanted to test my new Flek so she complied.

I'm still in the testing phase with the C-41 color kit but the results are comparable to professional development and are much cheaper in the long run.

apart from the bad exposure and tonality, the second one is a great composition! it totally makes the confusion about the dimension with those reflected trees on water - in a good way!

I just use a "Jobo" branded C-41 kit with a Dev, Blix, and Stabilizer. I think it's the same as the Tetenal one.

I use a big cooler filled with hot water and have everything but the stabilizer soaking in it. My thinking is the cooler will keep the temperature more constant because it's insulated. I use distilled water throughout the process.

I measure the temperature using these little Chinese probes: Click here to see on Ebay I have three of them and they are accurate to each other by 0.1degree. They may ALL be off but my results have been good enough to believe they are decent. And cheap! I highly recommend them to anyone needing the accuracy.

I like them both, you gotta be happy with the new Flek!

I can only see one, and I like what I can see.

It is a very beautiful lens. To be honest, I think it's slightly overrated. *Gasp* It is definitely amazing for the price. I got a minty MC one for $150 and they can even come cheaper to those that are patient. I would not rate it above my Mir 3.5/45 (which is a very good one), for right now. Another, well-exposed roll might change my mind though.

Is anyone else having that problem? They were uploaded in the same way.

I might upload a few more from the roll tomorrow so stay tuned.

Now the second one appeared.
I like both, the colours have a movie-like feeling.
Pose-wise, I prefer the first one.

These need a little tweak in color. If someone wants to do a little editing, I would welcome it. Ektar turns very blue when it's underexposed. I reduced this a bit but I don't think the colors are quite correct yet or homogenous with the series. Still using the Flektogon.

That's what I like the most in these pictures! It is perfect for the mood and for Stasia.
In fact, I like the new ones you posted definitely less, for this precise reason. They lost that "magic" aura due to colour tint.

C41 is most tricky to me also, I like E-6 and B&W C41 easily turn out wrong.

Stasia would look great with plaid skin, but I messed with the color sliders on this one:

Dunno if this is an improvement or not

color still cold, strange on grass, but probably was same when you did shoot.

I did use more green and take of typical C41 sulfur finger print from grass, how do you like it ?

Thanks for the editing attempts. Those, however, look a little too green to my eyes. As far as color accuracy the first picture of the first 2 is most like it was at the time. Warm because of the sunset but very on the edge of night. If it's everyone's inclination to add green though, I'll try that.

Can you explain the "sulfer finger print" Attilla? I'm not sure what that means. Yellowish?

I love the first two shots best: The viewpoint and the mysterious expression. The arms are a little stiff on the second one but you explained that in your first post. The second set I like for the compositions, but I prefer the colour of the first set.

Yes, yellowish looks old, not fresh look.

Not my inclination! On the contrary, I would go further down the blue route:
