Review of the Leica APO Summicron M 75 f2 ASPHERICAL :

Brilliant lens. Small, light, fast to focus which makes it perfect for the street.

High contrast, razor sharp even wide open and very neutral bokeh which makes your subject the focus of the picture and not the bokeh (like the noctilux f1).

What is a 75mm good for? There are often times on the street where 50mm is already too wide and too far and the 90 is too tight.

The APO Summicron 75 lives on my M9 now. Only removed when the 75 Summilux wants to play.

The only quirky thing is that when you focus, there are two groups that move thanks to the floating element and this feels strange. Takes a little getting used to and is soon forgotten when you see what the lens is capable of.

Verdict - buy it.

sure thing mate. i started with "review" exactly for this reason.

For example -> https://www.google.de/search?q=review+Leica+APO+Summicron+75&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

4th search result is my flickr account. On top of many reviews over the last few years since this lens was released.

I will cross link so visitors to my flickr account will visit our forum.

Thank you Hari, in my experience world order is important review is a common word, lens name is less. Common word go back after important one , targeted hit is lens name not 'review'.

Yep, I also like #7 a lot, but not only because of the girl, I love the composition and the "props".

Aside from that "emotional overheat" (coudl not resist Wink ), here something interesting for the cool-blooded technical freaks, an article about that (and similar) lens(es) from my friend Marco Cavina: http://www.marcocavina.com/articoli_fotografici/Leitz_75mm_1,4_1913-1983/00_pag.htm Certainly worth reading!!

Thank you, Klaus!

Will convey your compliment to my gf Smile

Absolutely doable, i just hope the weather permits over the weekend. By forecast, saturday looks good but one cant fully predict nature's mood changes

I was planning to do a non scientific and non light controlled test between the leica 75/1.4, the leica apo summicron 75/2 and the voigtlander heliar 75/2.5 - maybe i'll find some time for it this weekend too
