I did use f5.6 I did learn to avoid wide open much as possible when I shoot portraits. At the end of series you can see some of my favorite play . modify shoots and two wide open images just for demonstrate lens is sharp enough wide open.
When I did compare RAW files I saw no difference vs Carl Zeiss Sonnar 100mm f3.5 Contax I used both lens today + Auto Takumar 105mm silver.
