my newest collectors item in Contac mount on NEX5, with random pictures walking around with it. There is mostly no sharpening applied, some black and contrast corrections - i need a training from Orio to get the glow, he showed with this lens, or italian sun here

open

F 4

F 5.6

and open....you see the facebook screen in here eyes

I like best the last, and the roof.
bokeh is a bit harsh, but nice.

What year is your version, Thomas?

The last shot - one would struggle to shoot something that god with the best of modern gear.

Loved it. Yes the bokeh does look busy, but colors and sharpness appear faultless. Thank you for showing.

thanks for your comments

@ hoan i did the chimney also with my 90mm CV apo and it is not far from this sharpness, only colour & contrast are "60 years elder"
@ attila your just too fast answer made me thinking what happened ? i got it Smile
@ ariban the last shot was just a training shot to focus fast before she rises her hands
@ Orio: don´t know, serial no is 3199656 with a red T ( without star Smile ). I´ve read that this red T was given in the years around 47 when ccoating was a paid upgrade - hope you know it better and thanks to make me aware of this lens

it is a lens that makes fun holding it in your hands an looking through
with it, i struggle most converting these pictures into the forum size, have not yet understood, some lenses don´t give problems and some do ?
the bokeh is not everyones most liked, yes, but looking at these round forms of subject, it underlines the form with a quite artisitc background of a chainlink fence - so i like it in this case, would not like it with a structured subjetc showing details in.

it's December 5th, 1949, two years younger than my copy, and only 6 months before the discontinuing of production of this lens which happened in June 1950.
Still, however, not younger enough to make me think that significant changed might have happened in the optical project.
And yet, your lens seems to render differently than mine: yours looks sharper, mine softer, especially wide open; and the bokeh of
your lens seems busier than mine. But that may be because of different lighting conditions.
It's difficult to make any hypothesis based only on speculations. Only a direct comparison would help, I think.

Orio there is a simple solution: you come to visit me with your lens...
