I was searching for actual 35mm films in e-shops here in Czech Republic and i think this could be interesting stuff for comparison. How much costs those stuff in your country? Here is ours cheapest 35mm color negative films and also price of C41 developing at lab, or at home with C41 kit.

If you want to add prizes in your country, here are the rules:
- search for cheapest films with particular sensitivity.
- search for cheapest C41 developing in certified lab
- search for 1l C41 kit and convert it to cost per film (for example 1l Tetenal C41 here cost XXX CZK and it can develop 12 rolls of 135, so final prize is XXX/12)

Here is actual situation in Czech Republic:

100: Kodak ProFoto XL 100/36 = 65 CZK -> 3.12 USD
200: Porst color X 200 135/36 = 35 CZK -> 1.68 USD
400: EquiColor Premium 400 135-36 DX * = 44 CZK -> 2.11 USD
800: Fujifilm Superia SX 800 135/36 = 109 CZK -> 5.23 USD
1600: Fujifilm Superia 1600 135/36 = 188 CZK -> 9.02 USD
------------------
C41 in lab: 59 CZK -> 2.83 USD
C41 at home: 590/12 = 49,2 CZK -> 2.36 USD

* kit of 10pcs for the price 440 CZK

Well for the UK some answers:-

Cheapest new film Agfa Vista 36exp...£1
Cheapest dev would be £1 at a supermarket and lab £2.30 excluding postage costs.
Best deal for me is:- dev and scan to CD up to 36 exp, done in 40mins why I shop at a supermarket for £3

I use a local franchise to dev and scan to CD. 30 minutes and £3.60. Agfa Vista 200 is the cheapest I have found at £1 as Excalibur mentioned.

Indeed that's why I have a CD done for an extra £1, but AFAIK Tesco dev only for 99p but they might have put there prices up. Also Morrison used to dev for £1, but the guy behind the counter seemed confused the other day as shoppers want prints as well and don't ask for dev only.

I sometimes buy the cheap Kodak film for £1 a roll for camera testing, then I get all my C41 processing done at Tescos for 99 pence, that's just processing and no prints or CD. I scan the neg's.

I've just bought another 3 rolls of Ilford XP2 from Boots for £14, they've still got a '3 for the price of 2' deal on. And XP2 is C41.

Cheapest film I can find here is the chinese UNIFilm, ISO100. Costs 2,25€ roll.
Developing depends on film size: I use the Fuji lab next to the office, they use to take one day for developing and scan and costs me 6,30€ per 35mm roll or 13,8€ per 120/220 roll.

I liked very much the Schlecker film that was also cheap, but they don't stock it anymore.

Regards.
Jes.

Depends where in the Uk you live. Here, Tescos doesn't do film dev and Asda charge 2.99 dev and scan only. Boots will send your film off for dev but it's expensive.

Cheapest film is 4.99 for a 24exp roll of Fujicolor 200 in Asda, or 6.49 for a twinpack of Kodak Gold 200 in Tesco, those are the only sources. Poundland haven't had any film in stock for 6 months, I asked and they said I was the only one who had bought any so they stopped selling it.

+1, my BW film costs me less than 10p a roll and developer about 15p.

Shame Tetenal is not as cheap, but I will be buying a kit soon I think.

The old days were better, this was the cheapest way to dev film and it was so good you could add a small chemical booster (supplied) to use your left overs from developing the neg to use in the darkroom for colour prints. A great British invention sadly gone.

Look down for Photocolor II

Still not bad Tetenal kit price 1l set ~ 1 UKP/roll dev costs, 5L kit ~/0.3-0.5 UKP

exactly. when i asked in local lab about 120, they said to me that they do not develop it. so for 120 is "tetenal@home" the only choice (other is to send negs to lab in prague and pay for sending back, which makes cost per roll probably 3x more than with tetenal).

You guys are lucky, I just developed 5 rolls of fuji superia 200 I fortunately bought cheap from china at around 3$ per roll. It cost me a bit over 100$ and I had to wait 3 days for them since getting them done in an hour would have cost closer to 150$ even tho I'm pretty much the only one developing film these days in the area. Ontop of that my camera had a light leak and most pictures were ruined, tho that's not really the labs fault.

DM Paradies 200 (rebranded Kodak 200): 0,94€ per 36exp roll
Rossmann HR 200 (rebranded Fuji 200, highly recommended film!): 1€ per 36exp roll
I could resell the films/be a proxy if you're interested to buy a few more rolls.

Development: 0,99 € (both 120 and 135, always good quality)
Prints: 0,08 € per 9x13cm print on Fuji Crytal Clear Archive Paper

Same shops have also comparable cheap AgfaPhoto CT Precisa 100 slide films (3,25€) and ISO400 color films (forgort price)

B/W Films are compared to that expensive here. Cheapest are APX100 for 2,99€ and Kodak BW400CN for 4,50€ per roll. All other (Ilford films are the most common here) 5-10€ per roll.
Also B/W developments and prints are very expensive (about 3times as much as color) and with exotic films like Rollei Retro, Superpan etc. the results are not even usuable.

HUH Shocked

Just had 6 rolls done at a Supermarket and with Index (thumbnails) and NOT all scanned to one CD cost £18...scanned to one CD it would have been £13, done in 1 hour 10mins....all in separate folders and cover for CDs
and the results? well one shot to look at in wintertime Wink

Thank you Attila and Bob...the flek and very bright sunshine and 100asa Reala seem to give the Fuji frontier machine a scanning problem in that I had to reduce the contrast in most shots by up to 90 in Photoshop Shocked

This is the first time I gave the Flek 35mm f2.4 a proper test and is an excellent lens esp in closer shots:-

Here in Romania I can still buy Kodak ultra color 200 36 frames at 2.1 E a roll (the 24 frames is 1.95 E) at alocal strore .Expiring in 2014.
developing a roll is 1.05 E at the only lab in town wich still develops C-41 (rather crappy , IMHO)

I know you like the flek so some more shots with Reala (exp 2007)...I think it is an excellent lens too.

All shot dev and scanned at supermarket, I've reduced contrast in Photoshop and used my 50 year old Pentax S3
