The thorn is that has each development it has made me the negative scoring and/or spots!
In addition the developments C41 are if little requests that laboratories use outdated bathroom, what gives wrong colors and dirty, poorly filters, which stains the movies!
Conclusion: i have stopped all work on film, to go completely digital, while i was not really happy to do this, and despite a suitcase full of excellent film equipment.
Sorry but that is my experience...
Today, film hardware is collector, except any lenses on adaptors...

why you wrote this here? we ebate here about C41 films, we do not debate about local laboratories. for instance: my local lab do a very good job. if they will going worse, i will start buying tetenal C41 kit and develop films at home, as i normally do with bw films. there is no need to switch to digital, if you are unhappy with result of your local lab. with home C41 developing, you have even better access to push/pull of your films. _________________ Rokkor (MD 45/2.0, MC PF 50/1.7), Porst Color Reflex MC Auto 55/1.2, Jupiter 135/3.5

As someone mentioned, ASDA does dev and scan, for 3pounds but they can get up to 5 films on one disc. So 3quid for the first and 2 quid each for the others. so 11 pounds for 5. I'd rather they were scanned for me, its quicker, easier and usually better results.
I can still get the Agfa 200 film at a pound shop in Manchester.
The Agfa film has a problem in one of my cameras. I use a Nikkormat and it seems to pull the film right out of the cassette at the end. I will have to rewind at 34 in future, just to be sure!
Anyone else had that problem? |

You've got some pretty shitty labs in France, that all I can say. I at least can shop about, there are 6 or 7 minilabs (that I know about) within a half hour bus/train ride. And many more that I dont know about, I'm sure. |

Hello,
I see that I was shocked by simply saying this that is my experience.
I ask your forgiveness, because I do not want to attack anyone, and even less on this blog!
I like as you enormously the image film. For more as I am no longer a teenager, I had the time to set up a high-quality equipment. I also practice the photo lab for years.
To develop the C41 at home, i would need a JOBO Type machine, which will cost of opportunity, about 700 € -800 €, and also a little place.
Here, get a C41 development of quality, it is something that, unfortunately I have not yet been able to obtain, and that made me ruin a lot of shots.
This is my experience, and I cannot move in England to resolve .
I can only share your experiences on this blog, read your post, learn some things, enrich my knowledge.
Yet forgiveness to have shocked, was not voluntary.

I've used this Agfa on quite a few different cameras and haven't had a problem. And I use Asda as well as I can't compete with a Fuji frontier machine, using a flatbed scanner ( Frontier is set for about 2mp but could go to 5mp, Epson's best is about a true 2.5mp)......I would suggest that the fuji machine is set to clip the highlights and shadows in the scan for speed, but in many shots you wouldn't notice it unless you had a professional drum scan from a lab to compare. _________________ Canon A1, AV1, T70 & T90, EOS 300 and EOS300v, Chinon CE and CP-7M. You're absolved ! Because you're one of ours
Sorry to hear about your bad experience in France .I can tell about the same in Romania . but I am trying to solve this ... who knows why? Maybe this hobby jut helps keeping me in shape .And I love shooting different cameras that I couldn't afford 30 years ago by various reasons . I feel a lot of fun with it . so, this year I bought more cameras than lenses. And a great joy that I discovered a bunch of guys that still develop well films in my town .
As for the Jobo , I see they are going to launch a new version (that won't come cheap) but carefully buying maybe we can get a Jobo much cheaper than you said ,on Ebay. I'll get one , some day , but not until the New Year .It's not that simple for a beginner ( look at Ian's attempts) but finally it can be done (look at Attila's results) _________________ Cheers , Teo
