Is anyone using these around here? If so what is the opinion? Apart from one thread during launch I don't see anything in the search. Just curious to know how it performs with MF lenses?

I read that X-Pro1 is very good. It has the qualities of the X100 + ability to change lenses.

I'm wondering too wether someone tried it with MF lenses...

its the same sensor, so it will work the same. difference is size and xpro 1 has optional ovf and xe has better evf. thats it!

as for mf lenses, the sensor works great, IQ wise, with slr lenses. RF lenses are a little tricky and subjective in terms of results. general consensus is they work great with RF lenses from 50mm up, more subjective with wider FLs. one important thing is that the only focus aid is magnification, no focus peeking.

imo, if you get either you should also strongly consider getting the 35/1.4 fuji AF lens as it is universally acclaimed as one of the best IQ lenses ever on any system.

Tony, have to agree, seen some mind-boggling photos from the 35/1.4.

Tony, does RF means Range Finder ?

Wich MF lenses mounts adapt on these Fujis ?

hi olivier
yes RF=range finder. to my knowledge one can mount any RF lens on the xpro. my point was, according the many users plus what ive seen, lenses wider than 50mm may not perform up to snuff due to a variety of technical factors i am not equipped to discuss intelligently. over 50 rf lenses seem to not have any IQ issues. some users though are happy with all rf lens performance. like everything else, the wide angle IQ issue seems to be subjective.

the X cameras are typical mirrorless in that pretty much any mount lens can be used.

Thank you Tony.

Thanks Tony! There were many views and no replies for a long time so I didn't check more often. I have also seen some really good samples from this but haven't heard it being discussed much in this forum. I guess it's not as popular as nex or m43 due to price. Lets hope the price will go down on the SH market.

the price is going down. imo, the level of quality, both of the camera itself and the IQ it generates, is far superior to m4/3 and, imo, much better than sony. its worth the extra money for the smile it will put on your face every time you use it.

I think you're right Tony.
Fujis are very good quality cameras and lenses and this company has very good R&D department.
Also marketing and management are surprising. It was a real bet to launch the X100.

thomas these new fuji lenses are simply the very best value AF lenses that i can think of in any system. imo, they put most L lenses to shame for a third of the price. the 35/1.4 is fast becoming an historic classic at under $500! not an unusual position for fuji--i consider my two xpan lenses among the very best IQ ive ever used.
