I`m looking to upgrade my Pentax ME super set up with a nice fish eye like lens. I was looking at the M and A series, however sadly my budget is way too small to afford the SMC Pentax-A 15mm F3.5 or SMC Pentax-A 16mm F2.8 Fish-Eye. Anyway I was wondering are there any pentax-k mount third party fish eye lenses that anyone of you can recommend?

Given your signature I think it would be very suitable to recommend you the 16mm f/2.8 Fisheye Zenitar-K?

Samyang 8mm 3.5 - best choice!

The Samyang 14 blew me away and isn't too strenuous financially. There is prominent mustache distortion but an acceptable tradeoff for the very sharp corners and you won't really notice it much in most of your photography ..unless its architecture.

I enjoyed the Zenitar alot when I had one. A Mir 47K is another decent ultrawide to consider for your ME.

OPS it is a film question, than Zenitar 16 is you lens. Maybe Peleng 8mm but it cost too much I think now. If the fish effect is not needed that much the samyang 14mm is so so good! 8mm samyang fish can be tweaked to fill more of the 35mm be removing it's build in hood. That's all I know.

Actually now, they offer that lens with a removable lens hood just for the scenario you suggest:

I tried Zenitar 16/2,8 and Takumar 17/4. Takumar is better performance in sharpness at wideopen and edges.
I think Pentax 17/4 K mount perform as good or even better coating
I have samyang 8/3,5 too, Takumar 17/4 is better unless I need wider FL.
17/4 has built in 3 filters. red, yellow and UV
