Today I used this lens the first time with a D800. Here more information concerning the lens

http://www.adaptall-2.org/lenses/54B.html

I got very good results with a Pentax K-5 (APS-C Sensor) see here

Today then my first results with a FF sensor. I'm very surprised regarding the IQ. This lens is more than 30 years old and performs very well with a modern FF sensor. Some samples below.

Nikon D800 with Tamron SP 5.6/300mm (54b) at ISO 800 and f/ 5.6. Click on the image for larger version.

and a final sharpness test

Magnificent samples ! I had twice it was always hard to sell, I couldn't afford to keep it.

I think full frame sensor is more forgivable and shows much more IQ from same lens than crop one.

Looks really sharp even on the D800 and it has a great colors rendering, stunning lens I would say Shocked ....

Many thanks, I'm really very happy with this lens. If you could get one, try to buy it. This lens is not very expensive and the price/performance ratio is perfect.

Some great compositions in there, my favourite is #4!
Great colour and contrast work in the whole series.
