Well, not real news, as it's two months old, but I found out only today.
Fotokemika closed down all activity last August. This means that both the Efke 25, 50, 100 and their
Adox rebranded incarnations CHS 25, 50, 100 are terminated.
This is feral news for me. Sad I have been using this film for not a long time, but it quickly became my favourite.
Particularly the 50 ISO is a hard hit in the back.
What's worse for me is that, having found out late, I was not able to stock anything. All stock seem to be gone from all
shops that I know, except for a few spare rolls. Sad

Yeah, I bought 100 sheets of IR820 after I found out. Hopefully other manufacturers (Ilford…!) will fill the gap.

I don't know about infrared... about normal film, the look of Ilford films seems to me much different from the look of Efke/Adox.
So I doubt that they will ever make films like those.
Actually I doubt that anyone will ever make films like those anymore, considering that Fotokemica was using machinery old of some 50 years and that nobody else is using anymore.
If there is a hope, is that Adox may finance another company to produce the CHS films... but it falls into the same mousetrap: companies of today don't have the necessary old type machinery. Except maybe Foma... (?)

Yes, I like Fomapan 200, very good for snapshots.
Fast film for snapshots (100, 200, 400) will never be a problem, there is lots of good choices: Fomapan 200, TMax 100 and 400, TriX 400, Delta 400.
However Efke slow film (25, 50) look is unique, best film I have ever found for architecture.
I am a big fan of slow film, I used to love Agfapan 25 (disappeared), now I loved Efke 25 and 50, disappeared too Mad
not really lucky Laughing Ilford 50 is good but looks very modern. Efke instead looks like classic film, that's what I love of it.

Efke 50 was orthochromatic, that's why it looks different to others which are panchromatic.

I really like the look of ortho film but it's hard to find now.

I'm trying out some Polypan F 50 at the moment which is the Ilford Pan F 50 emulsion on a thin clear base, seems not bad so far, need to find the right developer for it, doesn't curl like Ilford which is a bonus.

...thanks for the heads up, I stocked up modestly with the 127 size so my Yashica 44 will have something to eat in the future...
