Lichen multispectral

Today about some Lichen, that I found growing on a broken branch. Shots in UV were done using my CERCO 94mm
quartz/fluorite lens, the UV Baader-U and bee vision XB4 filter as well as a modified Xenon flash was used as light source.

Quite interesting, how Lichen reflects UV light in these differently colored sub-UV bands I have written earlier about.
Nice to know a target for UV photography when flowers will be gone soon...

Klaus, it is always a treat to see your unusual, unique, one-of-a-kind images. I especially am drawn to the last image
using the 2 filters - IR and UV. Nice! Hope to see more.

The quadtych is stunning! What a great representation of the color gamut above and below the range of the human eye.
You should make a book out of some of your images, truly.

I am always astounded by the array of "different" colours you manage to extract from these living things

Thanks Patrick! Unfortunately there is not that much that reveals so much interesting and different colors. Basically it is flowers, these Lichens, a few crystals and a few insects.

Thanks Larry! Well, a publisher is after me to make a book since a while now, but I'm afraid of the huge effort behind it and that it won't be a commercial success, so not justifying the huge amount of time needed to make it match my (and her) high standards. I have declined her offer since and rather aim at making some very large prints on aluminum plates for exhibits. Maybe I make a BLURB print of my BLOG entries once, much easier and can be hand online then.

OK, just got my copy. Except some errors in the text and misunderstandings if came out nicely. I have to admit
UV photography is a difficult topic....

Klaus, each time I see your over human vision pictures, I'm amazed and wonder how to do such beautiful images.

Unfortunately, it does not work with Canon DSLRs.

Do you know for Olympus micro 4/3 like the Pen E-P2 ?
