Hi,

I like medium format and the TLR cameras a lot.

I can have a Mamiya C3 + 80mm f2.8 and case for 100€ delivery cost included.
Seller says it is in very good shape.

Is the C3 a good cam, compared with C220 or C330 ?
Is this a good price ?
Would it be better to pay more for the 220 or 330 ?

Any advice welcome. Smile

I'm one step ahead of Olivier here, I've gone and bought one. So all advice will be appreciated. Wink

Butkus has the manual.

Olivier, grab it, good price!

You will love the long bellows for close-ups.

The C330 (maybe the C220, too) cocks the shutter upon film advance, more plastic
was used in the bodies of both.

I've got the manual from Buktus, there was a film in it - exposed or not it's going back in for a play. Wink

Looking forward to the first roll pix!

I've had all three of the TLRs you mention, C3, C220 and C330. I love the ergonomics of the TLR and I found that I enjoyed these Mamiyas over and above Rolleiflexes.

What I didn't enjoy hugely which explains the fact that I no longer have a TLR is the square format print output. It's good for portraits but otherwise I found it a bit limiting.

Anyway, get the manual from Buktus, make sure the bellows are in good shape, make sure that the vendor supplies an empty film spool and away you go!

Thanks a lot for the advice and tips.
I wouldn't have thought to the empty film spool... Very Happy

Don't know anything about this cam but it seems nice for that price to start into medium format. Have you seen this here

+1 !
Thank you Rolf.

Bill Katastrofo, I try to grab it !
There is an old 120 B&W film with it. Nice for first trials, if not too old...
Very Happy

I'm just about to put my film through for another play. It's a bit of a fiddle getting it the right way on the spool, but who cares, it's a test film ?

Good luck, gents! Hope you weren't too late on this, Olivier.

It seems ok until now.
Seller told me everything is functioning correctly.
I'm waiting for his answer after I sent him an e-mail saying I take it. Wink

If it's alwright, I'll have to search for some film developmet tools, learn how to develop film and scan them...
Maybe it would be even better to give films to develop at a photo shop ?

Olivier, I definitely recommend learning how to develop your own black and white.
For color shop around for the best deal (both C-41 and E-6). Congrats!

Even a cheap flatbed scanner like the Epson 4490 does a decent job, some B&W:

from Mamiyaflex C2

looking forward to your results, guys!

WOW.
Nice results. Very Happy

Sorry... what is C-41 and E-6 ?

Thanks Smile

C-41=color negatives
E-6=slides or positives

Haven't done much in color, but will very soon, this is expired Portra 800:

Bill, that's really impressive IQ ! Smile
I like the square format and the high detailed structure of the picture.
Expired Portra 800, that means old films can still work great.

I'll surely love this camera and its close focusing abilities.

I'll surely have questions. Wink

- which 120 B&W films do you find are the best ? Kodak 400 Tri-X ? Ilford, Fuji, shangai ?
- where do you find them on the net ? ebay ?
- what are the best prices ?

I think I'll order some of this Kodak Professional T-MAX 400 - 120 Roll - Black & White Print Film - A 5 pack for £15-19 doesn't sound bad ?

Is this suitable for a beginner to use for home developing ?
