All taken through the Tamron SP 28-80 with the Canon EOS 50D.
Minimal to zero processing; mostly adjustment to compensate for
overexposures, and standard sharpening applied.

A Wikipedia article about Cedar Point is HERE, complete with a historical
overview of the park's inception, beginning roughly 140 years ago.

I'll start with a 100% crop, taken at 80mm, no processing, and from
a vantage point at around 100 feet across the ground from the 320-foot-tall
lift hill of the Millennium Force roller coaster:

More about the Millennium Force

This represents a train in its final overbanked turn, blasting into the station at well over 60 MPH.
As soon as the train completes its turn on this negatively-overbanked curve, it enters an extremely short
straightaway section of track, and is then nearly halted from full-out speed to a near-dead stop, within
a length of what seems to be around 25 feet.

This is the iconic lift-hill section of Millennium Force.
Standing at well over 300-feet tall, this rollercoaster broke several records upon its construction:
Tallest, fastest, and steepest.
When I rode it during its debut season of 2000, it was extremely smooth in addition to being fast(92MPH).
Nowadays, it's still extremely fast, but the ride has suffered. I'd guess that the urethane wheels
which ride the track are in need of replacement.

Parts 2 and further will follow this post, in separate installments.
