Very soft, does it have fungus? Only time I've seen glow like that the lens has a fine coating of fungus.

It's ISO 6400.

No fungus, all glass is clear, phone numbers are sharp Smile

High ISO does not give glow Smile

No PP, No breathing on the lens

Any more guesses?

Super long lens far far away?

Phone numbers don't look very sharp. Maybe you removed some elements, for instance unscrewing the rear group from a Helios 44, that would give a large amount of glow.

Lens with haze?

Image scanned from film bad developed?

Excesive humedity in the room?

The same image, put twice and bad aligned with one of both underexposed?

No? Well, Rino lost. Rolling Eyes

That was my first thought. Got one/two times something the same.

Answer

Place an uncoated split field filter on an uncoated lens = extreme glow; rotate to get best effect

What lens is that? looks like either a 2.8/50 Primotar or a 2.9/50 Meritar. It will be coated, not old enough to be uncoated.

Surely coated, I have several Meyers of the same vintage and they are all coated, only uncoated Meyer I found was a pre-war Helioplan.
