Seems to be a great combo. A good illustration that other manufacturer could produce perfect lenses too and it must be not only Leica or Zeiss.

Well, Schneider isn't obscure, cheap, or short-famed either, eh...
I mean, if Leica is Porsche, and Zeiss is Ferrari, Schneider is Jaguar... _________________ Orio, Administrator

that's good comparison Orio.
In my experience Schneider lenses has strong character, specially in produce natural color. I read somewhere that they didn't made cheap lenses.
If you compare the price of Zeiss and SK, in same league. SK usually more pricy. it's under Leica price, but not under Zeiss's
for example, Zeiss Pancolar 50/2 or f1,8 and SK xenon 50/2 or f1,9 _________________ nex5, Olympus EPM1, yashica half 14, Canon eos 650 want to see samples of mine? please click My lenses

Schneider is n.1 in lenses for large format. That's their main business (or at least it used to be - don't know about today).
They produced lenses in the small format especially in the 50s and 60s, but progressively abandoned that market which was very competitive, and concentrated on large format professional equipment. _________________ Orio, Administrator
