Grainy but the colours remind me of Ektar. Taken on a Praktica Nova, Helios 44M 2/58, Sunny 16s exposure. Slight adjustment to shadows and highlights, levelled and slight crop.

Agree with you about Jessops film (well the one I've used most i.e. "diamond" ) in that it is VG on the right subjects, but IMO skies look terrible with grain and the best combo of film, dev and scanning should be used in these type of shots. _________________ Canon A1, AV1, T70 & T90, EOS 300 and EOS300v, Chinon CE and CP-7M. Thanks Orio.
I don't know if the film I used was "Diamond", Excalibur, but you accurately described my experience of this film. I didn't dare use any sharpening (even without sharpening halo is apparent on high contrast edges like the crow on No.1) or move the sliders very far for fear of making the skies worse. Having said that, the colour reproduction makes it worthwhile as a standby, and printing looks OK up to A4, when the grain is there but not too bad. |

Here is Jessops diamond everyday 200 about 5 years old..I like the clean digital skies but that's me.
Tesco dev and scanned and I've only adjusted the gamma

I see what you mean. That could be two shots on different media. The sky shows the grain like early 400 film, yet the vegetation looks crisp like on Gold or Superior. |

IIRC... if you have any film dev at Jessops they give you a free film, maybe the new Jessop's film is better for skies. But I'd rather use superia 200, Reala, Gold or would like to try Portra. _________________ Canon A1, AV1, T70 & T90, EOS 300 and EOS300v, Chinon CE and CP-7M.
