You have the "real" Ultron, the one designed by Tronnier.
I have that lens too in the Icarex format. Great lens.
This Ultron is not to be mistaken for the "Color-Ultron" 1.8/50 which is Glatzel's Planar renamed and rebranded. _________________ Orio, Administrator

Actually, it is indeed the Color Ultron (I had not it at hand when I wrote, so I forgot the Color part, although I remembered the first versions were concave, the last slightly convex). I'll post a picture of it tomorrow.
Even wide open, it seems very sharp. _________________

A Canon 50D.
I can't wait to get and use it again, but it seems to be Englands monsoon season and I don't like getting wet. |

Have you trimmed the mirror on your 5D, I was under the belief that that lens fouls the mirror when near infinity. |

For sure I didn't trim the mirror and I'm sure I didn't have any mirror issues when I used the Color-Ultron on my 5D but I didn't reach infinity. I was shooting portrait and close up only. _________________ Duc
