I'm a digital photographer and was given all this gear. I'd like to sell it and use the money towards other camera gear. Any help on the pricing would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Rollei Zeiss Distagon 2,8/25mm
Unopened, never used.
The only completed EBAY listing I found was for a heavily used version, that didn't sell for $550. Click here to see on Ebay

Rollei Zeiss Sonnar 2,8/85mm
Like new condition $250-$300?
The only completed auction I found was for $257 Click here to see on Ebay

Rollei Zeiss Tele-Tessar 1:4/200mm
Glass is like new with a spec of something (dust?) inside. The surface is perfect.
I found this auction on Ebay and the high bid was $259 for a used lens. Click here to see on Ebay

Rollei SL35 +Rollei Zeiss Planar 1,4/50mm HFT
I'd like to sell the body and lens together since I only have one lens cap.
Does the camera seem broken on the top? I have a close up image. Otherwise, the camera looks barely used. The glass is perfect ... another "like new" lens with no signs of use.

I'd keep it, these are great lenses, particularly that 25mm Distagon and the Planar 1.4/50. Adapters are available to put them on Canon and mirrorless digital cameras. _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |

The Sonnar, Distagon and Planar are great lenses and here's some average prices that are ok and sellable at the same time:
Distagon 2.8/25: 200 to 250 USD
Sonnar 2.8/85: 300 to 350 USD
Planar 1.4/50: 250 to 300 USD
The Tele-Tessar 4/200 is not on the same quality level (it has some CA and it's an older optical formulation compared to the Contax/Yashica counterpart).
The quotation of 259 USD is correct, but it may prove not easy to sell, while I expect you to be able to sell the other three lenses
almost instantly. _________________ Orio, Administrator

Thank you for the replies. I appreciate it.
I've been an admire of Zeiss lenses for some time now. I love the colors, even though i'm mostly a b&w shooter now. I also like the micro contrast, detail, and the way many subjects seem to stand out in the image. Some refer to it as a "3d" effect. Perhaps it's the bokeh?
I don't really want an 85mm if it's slower than 1.8 unless it's in a zoom.
I could get an adapter for the 25mm and use it for street photography, but it's a bit too long on a crop sensor. If I had a full frame camera, I could use it in the street and for seascape and landscapes.
I've actually been lusting over the Zeiss 50mm f/2.0 Makro-Planar (ZE or ZF) for a long time. Not because of the 1:2, but for the IQ. Does the Zeiss Planar 1,4/50mm HFT that I have give the same kind of IQ? If so, i'd have no problem keeping that one. I think I read on another site the Planar 1,4/50mm HFT is in the same ballpark as the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM as far as IQ is concerned. Does that sound about right? Because if so, I think i'd be better off with the 50mm f/2.0 Makro-Planar.
Here's a thread dedicated to the Zeiss 50mm f/2.0 Makro-Planar on Canon digital bodies (mostly 5D)
I don't really care about the Tele-Tessar 1:4/200mm
Maybe I could keep the 25mm and 50mm. And sell the 85mm and 200mm.
Are there any threads where I can see examples of these lenses on digital bodies?
Thanks for the help |

Love it, it's always on my camera body. Only time I take it off is for Tele-photo (birding) or Macro work. _________________ Body : Canon 5d Mark II, Canon 50d
