My copy shows the typical luxurious Meyer bokeh. The purple fringing is not as low as my friend pretended, but it's very moderate and it's already gone at f/5.6
Sharpness is decently good already wide open; at f/8, the sharpness becomes on par with the best Contax tele lenses. At f/11 on my 5DMkII the diffraction already begins to crumple the finest details.
You have here 7 whole image samples and three 100% crop from the last image (taken at medium distance of about 40/50 meters) which prove the excellent sharpness of the lens at f/8
Overall I have to say that the lens is good for infinity distance photos, but really shines at short and medium distances.
The only drawback is the minimum focusing distance of 2,5 meters, but a simple extension ring can take care of that.
The 14 blades iris creates nearly round highlights at all aperture (only a slight hint of star points that in practical use are never visible)
The hood that comes with the lens (2 cms long) is good only for front light situations, if you shoot backlight you need a lens hood that is about 8 cms longer (total of 10 cms), otherwise the flare will kill you.
So shop for a 58mm diameter, 10 cms long hood if you want to use this lens in all lighting situations.

#1 - infinity distance

#2 - 7 mts distance

#3 - closest focusing distance

#4 - closest focusing distance

#5 - 3/4 mts distance

#6 - 3/4 mts distance

#7 - 40/50 mts distance

#8 100% crop (40/50 mts distance at f/8 )

#9 100% crop (40/50 mts distance at f/8 )

#10 100% crop (40/50 mts distance at f/8 )

I paid for this lens 26 Euros.
