Oh well, wish it was, but the design of a faster lens is very often very different, so the performance is different.

Probably are quite different, UC 1.8/28 is twice the size and has 8 elements in 8 groups. EE 3.5/28 is 7 elements in 7 groups.

I hope so... if not I was spending too much money Wink

That's what www.buhla.de says about:

Quote:
The UC Hexanon AR 28 mm / F1.8 is an extremely good performer and renders razor-sharp images with high contrast. In terms of sharpness, it is definitely superior to any ot the 28 mm / F3.5 lenses from Konica, although these also are nice lenses. There are no visible barrel or pincushion distortions.

Attila can hopefully tell more when testing this lens. And another thank you for helping me to get this lens.

Today I had a chance to test lens and play with it, due awful wheather I did went to St Stephen Basilica it was pretty dark outside and inside both, much darker than I did take pictures before there. Camera is Sony NEX-3 , all shoots are wide open, taken handheld and only lightened some picture due I forgot camera on -0,7 EV. No pp on pictures, I will publish later pictures in Gallery with proper PP.
ISO1600-3200 Click on each images to get higher resolution 1600px wide images!

Whoa, that's some performance wide open for such a fast wide angle! Quite a beautiful effect in rendering too, the slight glow in the first few especially is beautiful! Looks better at longer distances.

Good performance and...not a bargain ,instead ! Laughing
I'd like one too , but they are too pricey. In 28mm only Canon and Sigma are offering f1.8 ,both AF if I am not wrong .

it's true.. not a bargain, but worth the money if it's the lens which you use most. I like what I see and I'm still happy with my decision..

There is just one big problem now: after seeing Attilas photos with the Hexanon fisheye.. I want one too! Laughing
