Hi!
A picture (my both kids!) from last summer's vacation somewhere in south-west France.....
I found it "refreshing" on this cold period of the year Smile :
zoom Angenieux, wide open, no PP (just light sharpening after resize)....:

Thanks for looking!

Like I already said on the forum, this lens is for sure expensive if you look the prices on e-bay but it can be found (especialy in France Wink ) for a much "reasonable" price! I pay for mine 300€ wich is expensive I know, but on the other hands, this lens is so good that it can easily replaced all lenses in this focal range (including leica, zeiss, etc...) ......and an other choice could also be: better to have ONE good lens than ten average's.........

I would add that for sure you can sell it 2 years later for the same price !

I did not say that, I just said it's still an expensive lens even at 300€......

Well I wouldn't want to be a slave to the lens, but the lens should be a slave to me in that:- the lens with camera sometimes has to hang around my neck climbing over gates/walls etc and while cycling, also slung into a back pack, and used in dusty Ibiza climbing over rocks etc, walking along a beach dodging people splashing water/sand and so on....I'd be so WORRIED with an expensive lens Wink

well, I bring always this lens everywhere with me (walk, vacation, beach, etc..) and if you care a little bit, it's not a problem at all....and anyway, you can always keep one "cheap dirty" lens for these purposes Wink

What a stunning set of photos! Seems like you got it for a very good price given the results, I just love the pop! Smile

Well the other thing that worries me is:- buying an expensive lens and then find it's not much better than the cheaper lenses that I already own Wink
It would be so interesting if members with expensive lenses would do a comparison with cheaper lenses (hopefully that they own) to show what the members (with cheaper lenses) are missing from say apertures of f3.5 to f11. Maybe a thread should be started "Do you need that expensive lens" Wink

Well, it depends on what you mean by expensive.
$ 500 ?
$1000 ?
$3000 ?

Some lenses are over-priced.
But some are truly unique, such as Canon's 17mm tilt-shift. It is a category by its own. And simply amazing.
Usually the question is if you really need f1.4 or f2.
By f5.6 - 8 the differences are much smaller.
