Thank you all ,it is indeed a very nice lens for the images it it capable of producing and physically light and also pretty solid besides looking a little plasticky. I find it sharp even wide open.
I got this as part of a bundle with an Edixa Prismat LTL which is built very well ,and I hope to be able to use it sometime. |

Did not see your question . I have not had the time to try this lens except for that one time-and I must say I loved it. I am not one to compare lenses-but this falls in the "definately keeping" category along with the Edixa camera it came with. Its almost right there with the 50mm -Xenons I have. I hope that means something to you.
I hope to be able to use it soon-I will post/ add any new revelations.

Nice lens, you don't find them often in a good exterieur condition...
Weren't there 3 lenses made by ISCO in that class (50/1.9) - and no 50/1.4?
All Gaussian, 6 elements, in ascending order:
Westromar
Westagon
Westrocolor
Any real difference? (except price?) _________________ My flickr Gallery

Similar as Enna i've seen plastic and metal versions. Optics nice in both, metal construction preferable of course. Don't know about F1.4.

I definitely would not generalize this statement to whole early ISCO series. _________________ ---------------------------------

Westrocolor was DM 360,- - quite some money for a 50/1.9 lens back in 1965-1970.
This was more the price of a 50/1.4 (which Isco + Schneider didn't offered)
Westagon 100,- was cheaper. _________________ My flickr Gallery
