50mm f2 is an expensive lens , be careful to not damage rare element.

You need a coupling ring for that purpose IMO with two sides filter threads; reverser ring is one side camera mount, other side filter thread. Nice for macro too, but with one lens.

yes for 2 lenses, you need male to male (M2M) ring
I use 58-49 mm ring

i know. Both of these lenses have 55mm filter thread so i'll need 55mm-55mm ring

finally got the macro coupling ring today
here is quick test of the magnification (i have a long way to go to learn how not to shake the camera when extreme macro shooting Smile )

real macro testing when weather allows me to get out and find some flowers or bugs Smile

#1 - olympus om 90mm/2 alone

#2 - olympus om 90mm/2 + olympus om 50mm/2 macro reversed

Generally speaking you should not have to reverse a macro lens. If you need extreme magnifications (above 2:1) there are special mini-lenses available that fit on bellows. Most of the majors have offered them, I believe. The only ones I can name off the top of my head are the Photars from Leitz, though I believe Nikon, Pentax, and Olympus have made such optics too.

Here is a Photar:

Here is info on the Olympus lenses:

i mean, that for my macro needs coupling ring is just enough and my funds will go for a new PEN camera that's about to be announced

You asked about reversing. I pointed out that this is not necessary for macro lenses (you said you had one). If you need more magnification than that, then you should look into special-purpose bellows lenses, as normal lenses will start to look pretty fuzzy even reversed. Maybe I have misunderstood you.

Get one of the TOMINON special macro bellows lenses, there come in 17/35/50/75/105/135mm focal length and can be had for a song. Need a M40-M42 (or M39) ring, available on ebay. That sets you back about $50. Data is on my macrolenses.de site.

I talk about those: http://www.macrolenses.de/ml_detail.php?ObjektiveNr=69
not enlarger lenses (that Tomioka also made).

I have some pictures taken with Tominon 17mm lens here on my blog: http://www.practicalnaturephotography.com/2011/12/tominon-17mm-f40-lens-for.html.

On 16-24 Mp APS-C camera it is over the diffraction limit already wide open at its recommended magnification (X10-X24). So I would not use it for critical work.

The 35mm Tominon is much better when used at about X5, and 75mm Tominon is good at about X1-X2, but I had no time to post my results yet.

I should mention also, that I used stacking at such high magnification, so it might be not exactly what OP wants to do.

Alex
