Cine version (w/o range finder coupling) is actually 3000USD. I'd love to have it.... need the funds....
[EDIT] Hmm, the exif says it's M9, so it must not be the CINE version, but the Leica M version. _________________ Sony α7R, Pentax 67II, Kiev-60, Hasselblad 203FE, 903SWC, Graflex Norita 66, Mamiya M645 1000s, Burke & James 8x10, Graflex Pacemaker Speed Graphic (4x5 and 3x4), Century Graphic (2x3), R.B. So it's made by Shenyang. Never heard of this manufacturer before.
7000 Yuan seems to be a very low price compared to the 3000$ you have to pay in the USA
(1 Yuan ~ 0.158 $)
Or are these different lenses?
EDIT
It seems to be different lens! _________________ I'm not a collector, I'm a tester

Yeah, the micro-4/3 and E-mount lenses are different; different design, different coverage, etc. They go for $1050. _________________ Sony α7R, Pentax 67II, Kiev-60, Hasselblad 203FE, 903SWC, Graflex Norita 66, Mamiya M645 1000s, Burke & James 8x10, Graflex Pacemaker Speed Graphic (4x5 and 3x4), Century Graphic (2x3), R.B. From the samples and the review, the quality seems closer to the old Schneider 50/0.95 than to the Noctilux 50/0.95.
Still a very interesting lens.
The big difference in its favour (and the Schneider) is the low amount of CA. Noctilux is pretty bad that way from what I've seen. |

Do you really think it's closer to the old Schneider Xenon 50/0.95?
The 0.95 Schneider Xenon has even on APS-C more vignetting and a very different (much more swirly) bokeh. For my eyes the SLR magic is much better than the Xenon and much closer to the Nokton.
Or do you think of the center perfomance? _________________ I'm not a collector, I'm a tester

Yes, I am thinking of centre performance. The bokeh on the Xenon becomes more "normal" when stopped down. I thinking not all pics above are wide open. The Xenon is great at CA and contrast when the light is gentle but suffers from veiling glare. |

Yes, this T0.95 lens is different from those f/0.95 lenses. And there is a rumor that SLR Magic is planning to bring this design to MFT and NEX too - a 25mm version for MFT and a 35mm for NEX. |

The images of that 25mm T0.95 (pre-production) don't impress me yet:

Am I missing other samples there than those chart shots? The Nokton is not even focused on the chart wide open, so that comparison is rather meaningless. Other than that, there seem to be little difference between them. My main concern is if the SLR Magic will be as well built as the Voigtlander, given that I expect its price to be similar. It's going to be a tough sell I think - they should have better worked on a longer focal, for portraiture (45/0.95). The MFT platform already has two excellent 25mm primes. |

The purpose of that lens IS to be shot wide open
Steve Huff uses ND filters in daylight.
Great lens => Great price.

Those are the only samples, but it makes you think when you know they are from SLR Magic themselves.
I'm not a fan of releasing close to exactly the same lenses. |
