Anybody has direct experience on that?

I have tried - with 4 glass jars in my kitchen sink and single use C41 kit from Maco.
You have: color developer (A+B+C+starter), then bleach, then fixer, then stabilizer baths.

Maybe the temperature was not very stable as there was a slight color shift towards green.
Otherwise the negatives came out very nice and contrasty.

Surely, I do it by myself with Tetenal C-41 kit, if I buy 1 L kit, roll/cost is 1.5 EUR. If I buy 5L kit, cost is less than 50c.
Process is pretty strait forward , a large plastic box can keep temperature under developing due process is fast 3 minutes. So don't need any extra tool.

I did use until now 10yrs expired developer not easy to handle sulfur on surface, I did give it up and bought a fresh kit.

One of my better results.

Do you recommend using an acquarium heather for the temperature?
I bought one for my B&W develop work, but it does not seem to work, perhaps due to cheap chinese origin Rolling Eyes
Actually any recommendation of brand for good acquarium heather would be appreciated.

The aquarium heaters unfortunately do not reach the temperature needed for C41 (38,7 C according to Maco) .
I was thinking to get one of those instead: http://www.novadarkroom.com/product/347/Protronic_Heater.html

Just use water from your mixing tap in kitchen basin and use at least 5 L box to keep 38 C water in.
Set developer temperature to 38 C also , that is it , don't need aquarium heater. If water buffer is enough big , temperature will not go fast down , you can take a try , prepare box , put a temperature meter in and look after 3 minutes the value.

That is it, try your hot mixing tap how can you keep temperature with that.

It is works to me well in my kitchen basin , practice it without developer and you will find right things.

A used Jobo developer also not too high price , I paid around 120-150 GBP include shipping from UK.
And with this set I can develop E-6 , C-41 both.
