I'm looking for a sharp and faster than 2.8 lens in 28-35mm range. Thanks.

What camera?

How much do you want to pay?

Zeiss 1,4 and 2/35. Nikon 1,4 and 2/35. Minolta 1,8/35. Leica 1,4 and 2/35. SMC 2/35. Canon EF 1,4 and 2/35 L. Fujinon 1,9/35 (M42). Hexanon 2/35. The list follow.......

As you see, there are a lot of them. Zeiss, Leica, Canon and Nikon, perhaps are among the best.

Rino.

If you can mount it and afford it, the Minolta 2/28 is one of the best 28's in that speed.

Old Nikkor 2/28 is a nice lens and within your budget.
The MIR-24 35mm f/2 is even cheaper and as good.

Rokkor 1.8/35mm HH. Kiron 2/28mm already reached your price range. Flektogon 2.4/35mm is natural choice. Pentax-M SMC 2/35mm. Vivitar Series 1 both 28mm and 35mm are great.

I prefer 28mm, because I've to mount on a Canon 7d, Kiron 28 f2 is it sharp? Alternatives 28mm, great and not expensive?

+1 for a Nikon pre-ai 28/2 - very sharp wide open, much better than the Kiron IMO.

But Nikon price is higher!

Fast wide lenses are not cheap.
There is always people who come and say "I want it fast, wide, sharp and cheap!"
But it doesn't work like that.

+100

Our fantasy is always find one great lens for almost nothing. But only a few (if one) times it ocurrs.

We get what we pay for.

This is the Kiron lens. Decent price providing the blades work. Ok wide open but will likely flare and has lowish contrast.

I know it's kiron...seller said me great condition.... I hope good lens to use on my 7d: on crop camera I prefered a 28mm, not very expensive.

Kiron 28/2 is very good, relatively cheap.
Best may be Distagon 28/2, different mounts, but not cheap.
Pentax A 28/2, too very good, something in between, not cheap.

Eheh...Distagon is my dream, but to much expensive. What do you think about OM mount version? Perfect compatible with Eos system?

PostPosted: Thu Oct 27, 2011 1:50 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

i dont have fast OM 28, only OM 2.8/28, but it should be ok with an adapter for EOS.

As described in this forum several times, OM lenses can be easily adapted, much easier than most other mounts.

We do have a search function, you know? Wink
