And another Rokkor... (Picture added!)

...for my NEX. Wink

I just have bought another Rokkor lens, one that I have chosen esp. for my NEX system.
I do own the brilliant Rokkor 2/28, but that's pretty huge for a 28mm lens, so I wanted a compact one, as a "normal" lens for the NEX.
I know the equation "compact + fast = very expensive" (see Leica Summicron-M 28 ), and a fast 28mm I have (s.a.), so I went for "compact + not that fast = pretty affordable". Wink

(That's not exactly my lens, but the same model.)

Click here for a high-resolution image that has been taken with that 3.5/28.
Pretty promising... Wink

And I have already ordered another Rokkor-NEX-adapter.

BTW, in case you want to know, I got it for €25,- in mint condition (the lens, not the money Wink). That's ok, isn't it?

Congratulations for your new lens !
I don't have this one , but the 28/2.8 wich is surprisingly good (and compact ,and light).
I am waiting some samples from this 3,5/28 and your opinions vs the 2/28 performance.

Should be here within a couple of days...

Looking foward to test pictures. I think you got a good price. I've tried to buy this lens several times and been outbid every time. Sad
The only other member I can think of offhand that has one is Peterqd. I believe he has the older SG version.

Rokkors are great, congrats!.
I also look forward for your samples.

Regards.
Jes.

erm well I've always been put off buying the Rokkor 28mm f2.8 because some say "there is nothing great about it"..maybe it's one of those lenses with variations in quality Question , for me another 28mm has to be something different as I have 14 other 28mm lenses Smile

OK, but I've bought the 3.5/28 (not the f/2.8 ) and yes, it is something different, because it is very compact and fits to the NEX better than my bigger ones.

Yes, my 3.5/28 is a different lens completely - the older SG design, MC, with chrome aperture ring and 55mm filter. Big and heavy. I've just bought a MD 2.8/35 similar to Carsten's.

cute lens, congratulations Carsten.
btw. the f2.8 MD Rokkors are small and light too, the 'new MD' weighs 185 grms, the older MD.W Rokkor 205 grms ( don't know the weight of the f3.5 )

So far my best 28 is SK Curtagon 28/4. Carsten you had this lens before. Please tell me what you think the rokkor compared to SK.
Oh..BTW I'm offered by my friend Rokkor 50/1,7 for around $40. I said I've too much 50mm Very Happy is it good price?

I don't know much about Rokkors to be honest, but as far as I know the 1.7/50 is a pretty sharp lens. If $40 is too much? I can't tell.

Yes, I had that lens. And since I got my NEX I kind of regret to have sold it. It would have been a very nice lens for the NEX. It's beautiful and not too big.

I still am waiting for the Rokkor. Seller has sent it via "Hermes" and those are much slower then DHL. With DHL I would have got it today... Sad

A year ago I would have said it was too much. Today it's about right if the lens is in near mint condition with original caps but, as always, you'll often see one go for less than that.

Hi Carsten!

This is really funny, you found my offer at another forum. I just thought: "well, this looks familiar", and of course it´s my lens on my glass desk. The tractor photo was taken near Rotterdam, by the way.

Why didn't you buy my copy of the lens? It´s redundant now I´ve got the F2,8 version Wink

Is it still for sale Benedikt? Can I ask what price and can I make a reservation? PM me please.

Hi Peter!

Yes it is, PM is coming now Smile

I agree the prices on this lens has gone up.To me if I could only choose one I'd take the MD 50 f2 over the f1.7. My 50 f2 is sharper then my 50 f1.7, but that could just be copy variation. Smile

Here's my new NEX with my favorite lens, the Minolta 28 f/2 MD

I think it's smaller than the Rokkor version, but I don't know how they compare optically... but this lens is VERY sharp wide open and stunning stoped down...

Do you have a photo of the lens on the nex?

I wish the adapter was smaller...

Looks good, Ivan!

I like to wait until the 3.5/28 arrives and then I can show both 28mm lenses next to each other.

This is the reason why I love rangefinder lenses on my NEX, but they are so bloody expensive!

Sorry for kidnapping your photos. I wanted to show the lens and your photo of the lens was the best I could find, really well done.
The tractor photo shows its performance pretty well. In apologize for not stating the photographer, I just didn't know who took those shots.

I've found the offer of the lens I bought some days before I realized that you also sell a copy. But if Peter takes it, it gets in fantastic hands!

yeah, too bad I don't have $$ to invest on Leica or Voigtlander lenses for M mount...so I have to stick with SLR lenses...

How this Minolta 28/3.5 compares to the Konica 28/3.5? the Konica adapter is 3mm smaller than the Minolta, I was thinking about giving the Konica a try...

Don't know. I have never used a Konica lens on my NEX. Attila loves them.
I have bought the Rokkor, because I could not find a Hexanon for a decent price and I already have a Rokkor-adapter. Wink

Finally, the lens arrived! (It seems that the hermes-driver has "lost" it in his van for some days!!!)

But, it's another copy than the one Benedikt has shown in his picture. My lens is larger, not that positive for a NEX-usage (it's much bigger than I thought it was, it has a 55mm filterthread!), but the first shots were very promising!

PostPosted: Tue Oct 18, 2011 6:14 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

yeah...I think your lens is the version with 5 elements in 5 groups, the MD with 49mm thread is just a little smaller.

Hi Carsten!

No problem at all, it was really just funny to see!

My version is smaller, yes.

By the way, as this thread is called "and another rokkor": my MD 24mm F2,8 has arrived Surprised I´m very curious what results it will bring.
