A friend asked me for small minimal focusing distance Pentax PK 135mm lens. I've collected few over time (before 5D i had K10D) and said to him - of course, no problem. Well it wasn't easy to find it. In fact only one had 1m distance, all others were 1.5m or above. Here: NORDINAR MC 2.8/135mm, nice little Japanese fatso with integrated hood. You know of others? Please add.

From my memory I only remember the SMC Pentax-F/FA 135mm f/2.8 [IF] which is an AF lens and focuses down to 0.7m. It's a great lens BTW, however it does suffer from a bit of purple fringing. Nowadays it's very expensive as there aren't that many fixed focal length 135mm AF lenses... _________________ Peter - Moderator

Interesting question.
Even my newest 135's only go to 1.5 M
The old ones usually had quite long minimum focus. I have one that only goes to 2.3 M
The worst I have seen for an SLR were the Kodak Retina Schneiders, minimum focus was maybe 3.5M _________________ I like Pentax DSLR's, Exaktas, M42 bodies of all kinds, strange and cheap Japanese lenses, and am dabbling in medium format/Speed Graphic work. |

A quick check shows I have a black Jupiter 11A 4/135 in M42 marked 1m close focus distance. Haven't verified that. Also a CZJ 4/135 Triotar in Exakta mount which is marked 1.2m but it goes beyond that, probably to 1m. Again not verified. |
