How does it look ? The 35mm folding one with coupled rangefinder.
That's a really cool camera.

I have the 35mm Ikonta (522/24) very small and really beautiful and made like a jewel.

It looks pristine. Good looking leather case as well. It is the folder with the odd looking thing with a circle attached to the front of the lens. Like this....

It is the model with the Synchro Compur shutter.

Usually I not like much 35mm folder cameras , if I use a very simple basic camera I like to have large negative to get best image quality what is possible. If I have to make compromise and use 35mm film , plenty of excellent quality more advanced camera available.

I understand Attila and agree except for the fact that the more advanced are usually more drab or plain in appearance. There is something that appeals to me with these old folders with their retro mechanical looks. I know it is not logical and over time I may change my view but right now this one just feels right. I even like the looks of the Argus c3 and c4 and the Kodak 35. They are ugly to some but beautiful to my mechanics mind.

The guy I bought my Super Ikonta 6x6 from was really pushing the Contessa. Now that I know the Ikonta transport needs adjusting maybe I think he was telling me the Contessa was the better buy. It looked awesome - but like Attila, I'm more inclined to 120 in my folders, save for Retinas. (If the guy still has it and I haven't *accidentially* bought one on the bay before then, the next camera show in November I'll buy it.)

I'm buying a few different rangefinders right now on the cheap to try out. Who knows I may find a gem hiding in the bushes. I've looked at canons and minoltas and most others but I keep coming back to the retinas....just something about the feel of one. Solid and well engineered. This one looks the same.
