Well my recent ebay purchase has restored my faith in grabbing a bargin again. Very pleased with the lens all for the princely sum of £6.05, but I must admit he only described it as a Telephoto Lens so worth trawling all adds.:

Meyer-Orestegor 200mm f4-22 Zebra both shot at f8 around 1/250.

Great deal, although for a moment I thought you'd snagged a 737 Shocked

One of my first shocking experience was this lens, I did rescue lens , it was stored in stone powder without caps. I still love it.

lol, but given your track record, I'm amazed you haven't picked one of these planes up at bargain price.

Laughing Laughing Laughing

Although of the two of us, you are still the most likely to physically pick a 737 up Wink

Oh how did we get so OT? Pentacon lenses still seem to be available at decent prices. The 135/2.8 preset is a little more difficult these days, but can usually be gotten with a body.

I did put a bid on for £25 as I've been after one for a while but his description was just one line saying "telephoto lens good condition" so it was a bit of a punt. I was completely gobsmacked when it turned in perfect condition. Very Happy Makes up for some of the duffers I've bought recently.

Bargain! Congrats!

Well done, I discarded all my other 200s in preference to the Pentacon 4/200.

Bargains can still be had, I picked up a PB mount Pentacon 2.8/135 for 99p plus 4 quid postage last week, I know have all three 135s that were made in PB mount - Prakticar(Sigma), Pentacon and CZJ.

I got my 'bokeh monster' for £10(+ shipping) so yeah, bargains are still up for grabs. 135's are very common in kits where the body usually has a 50 mounted and the 135 is the "spare lense" has sellers call it, always look twice at those auctions!

Congrats on the bargain!

I'm after a 200 (and a 400) to add to my Pentacon collection.

I snagged my 300/4 for pennies in M42, and my mint 135 in PB for a few quid (Badly listed). The 35mm cost me a bit more at £20, but it's mint. Still need an adaptor for the 135, or to modify the mount.

Yes!

I picked up a Canon AE-1 with near mint 2.8/28 and 1.8/50 FD lenses and a near-mint Vivitar Series 1 2.3/135 for 30ukp from a seller 15 miles away so just popped round and collected it.

A little OT
Does the 135/2.8 have a 2x convertor that comes with it? I have just picked up a 135 and have the option of buying a convertor that fits with it.
Thanks

I missed out on a 200 Pentacon, wish I had bid a little harder now after seeing your plane images!

Soligor and Tamron marketed their "converto" or "twin-tele" 135/2.8 with a matching TC. Don't think Pentacon/Meyer did the same.

How did you do it? Throw it in laundry machine Smile? That must have taken some time.

I collect those too. I don't mind reserving a special shelf for them. I do prefer Meyer's multiple blades, though MC coating and smooth barrel finish of the latest type is great too. This photo is few years old thus obsolete Wink.

I have that Pentacon TC and it's good, it's not rare though, seen on ebay frequently. It needs to be paired with a very good lens in my experience.
