I found a mint Rikenon 50/1.4 at my local place yesterday. Good price plus a nice metal hood and cap thrown in for free.

I'll add some proper test images soon. Here's a quick one at f/2.0. No sharpening. Loving it! Shot on a Canon 60D.

Renders a bit on the cyan side but that's easily corrected. Could be my green floor too.

CA, thanks! Cats are the best!

Just did a quick (not so scientific) test in the studio. As many of you know, it's not bad at wide open, good at f/2- 2.8 and gets better.

Shot on a Canon 60D.

Congratulations on your truly excellent find! Some consider that lens to be made by Tomioka, but maybe I'm thinking of the Auto-Rikenon 55mm f1.4. I use it's little brother, the Rikenon 50mm f1.7 more often. I lucked out and found it at a Portland Goodwill store for 15 dollars. Thanks for posting tests. Would love to see a photo of your lens and hood as I am very much a Rikenon fan.

I have both ,assuming the op is talking about the metal Auto Rikenon....I have a beaten up version of the 50/1.7 and love it as well.I confess not to using the 1.4 much at all...after your samples I may drag it out again Very Happy
sorry just realised I have the 55/1.4
