I got this shot with the Nikkor Q 135/2.8. Unfortunately the focus is on the pattern on the wings rather than the head but I still kind of like it.

Thanks for looking.
Very Happy

For those interested in NH I've been told this butterfly is an "agehacho" (in Japanese)

I see no problem with the focusing, great shot.

Looks excellent to me also!

Given that it's a butterfly, I think focusing on the wings rather than the head is perfectly acceptable.

Question: does the 135 Q focus down this close or did you have to use a tube or close-up lens?

Thanks chaps.

Michael, I didn't use tubes or anything. I cropped the image a little. And it was a huge butterfly, probably about 15 cm wingspan.
