I bought a 77mm-86mm step up ring and a 86-95mm step up ring as well as a lens shade for a 300mm f/4 Sonnar Red MC lens to go on my 300mm f/4 Olympic lens. They work very well on it and look good. I bought the lens shade on ebay and it did not have the 86-95 step up ring or the lens cap with it. Would love to have a lens cap for the lens shade so I can leave it on the lens all the time. Can anyone help me out here? I've found one for an Enna lens but it is a leather push-on cap and not the plastic push-on of the Zeiss lenses. I'd rather have the correct one for this lens. 112mm push-on caps are very hard to find it seems. _________________ Big Dawg |

Yes, very hard to find.
I've tried and eventually I gave up the search.

Drop me a pm with your address I will send to you a genuine Jena cap which is fit on genuine shade , perhaps this is 112mm I never measure it.
If you promise me won't keep caps always on if you keep caps always on that is best way to get fungus inside especially if environment is humid frequently above 60% humidity level. _________________ -------------------------------

I never leave filters or caps on my lenses due to what Attila says - fungus, humidity is often above 55% here. _________________ I don't care who designed it, who made it or what country it comes from - I just enjoy using it! |

If you want/need the cap for dust protection, do what a lot of astronomers do for their large mirror telescopes: use a shower cap.
Tamron's cap for their 60B 300/2.8 was a slip-on piece, it didn't thread in. Yesterday I did a search on eBay for "112mm filter" and I came across hits for filters -- and caps!
Just these "stack caps" though:

Big Dawg,
I used so-called "Hoodie" caps: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/508911-REG/LensCoat_LCHLBK_Large_Hoodie_Lens_Hood.html
Check out the different sizes they have; mine was a medium-sized one (a fisheye lens with about 77mm front glass and no threads to put a normal hood on). These are made of neopren, are quite sturdy, and can be put either on top of the hood or the lens itself. Highly recommended. _________________ List of lenses |

I clicked on the above link and was browsing about at B&H when I came across this:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/109820-REG/Tamron_FLC112_112mm_Slip_On_Lens_Cover.html
They may be out of stock now, but perhaps they'll be getting more soon? Might be worth a call or email to ask for more info. _________________ Michael

I just saw this one if you're still in the hunt. A cap is definitely a wise investment. _________________ kathmandu
