A Takumar perhaps?

Plenty of examples of the Takumars and other lenses in MFlenses -- Best of Lenses Gallery

There are also some threads dedicated to showing bokeh; use the Search link (top of page) to search for 'bokeh'.

Canon fd new 35/2 has the smoothest bokeh I've ever seen *and* is still reasonably priced, but it might be difficult to adapt to your camera. Ok, rereading your post smooth bokeh might not be something you are looking for. Smile

Triplets are known for the type of bokeh you seek. Not sure if I know of any wide angle triplets.

Meyer Primagon 35mm has very nice bokeh as does the Meyer Lydith 30mm.

28mm lenses are so common, I have loads of them, not sure what to recommend for the type of bokeh you seek.

Wides with nice bokeh?

The "arabesque" type of pronounced ring-edged bokeh your Trioplan and Cyclop give is not hard to find with wide-angle lenses. Just look for a lens with elements grouped in 3 to five groups.

To everyone their own liking, but wide-angles with "nice" bokeh require a definition of what is "nice" and what isn't - personally I think smooth and "un-pronounced" is the definition of "nice" bokeh...

In my opinion, most wides provide ugly, rough-edged bokeh balls, and there are very few lenses that really give smooth bokeh highlights and provide a wide field of view. I could name two autofocus lenses very capable in this field, but I'l refrain from so Laughing

I like your input Vilhelm.
wide lens need to be very close to object to achieve good bokeh.
my fave wide now (it has nice bokeh I think) is Schneider Kreuznach Curtagon 28/4

Voigtländer Skoparex 1:3,4/35 in DKL mount has the same harsh circles
in the highlights when taking pictures from a close distance.
The same ones which Suat likes in 2.8/50 Xenar.
If you can find one for cheap it is a nice lens - very good colors and very special bokeh Smile
