I was browsing through my hard drive and came across some old sets shot with the stolen D90 that I had forgotten about!

Thought i'd share some random shots that I liked ...

As an apology, why don't you post your 3 fav shots with the 'cron? Very Happy

I'm changing this post to '3 fav. Summicron-R shots'

Looking at the 1st shot, it seems that this lens may be prone to some CA?

Yes ... at 250% I see some ... and at 500% it's milky-hazy ...

I'm just a hobby shooter + NEVER printed anything out on a big size

At most, my shots get used as my desktop background by myself and some friends Laughing

And some poor souls who want to use my images on some book covers/websites Laughing

During my last holiday trip I made some pics with my Summicron-R 50, but frankly, it did not really blow my socks off.

Maybe it is because it is the first version I have, but I had to do quite some post processing to get nice looking pics: boost exposure +0.5 to +1 stop, increase contrast and black levels, defringe CA, apply sharpening etc.

With my Zeiss or Takumar lenses I hardly have to do anything except for fiddling with the WB, sometimes exposure tweaking, but that's about it. The cron does show quite some minute details, but its images are not sparkling. The bokeh is quite OK and colours look realistic, but I miss something.

Just check these examples.

I must say that during my trip to Denmark it was the worst weather I had seen in years, rain was pouring down by the gallon (as you can see in the water in the castle pic). That does not help in getting bright contrasty pictures.

I have much better experience with my other Leicas like the Elmarit-R 90 or 135 or even the 'lux 50, those have a really nice rendering and are razor sharp without biting. Pics from these lenses have a really good vintage character. In the near future I will be able to shoot with the second version of the Cron-R 50, and I am really curious how that one compares to the 1st version.

Or am I just a bad photographer blaming his tools? Smile
