Got this one on Ebay in horrible condition. Looks like it sat on someones mantle (With a coal or peat fire burning below) for years with no caps on it. I sent it off to V-Photo of Atlanta for CLA and $71.00 later it is clean and working well. (The focus ring and aperture Iris were stuck solid.) Pretty good IQ and I like it better than the 300 f/4 Meyer pre-set I did own. About as heavy as the Meyer-Gorlitz but better balanced and better IQ. Hand held photos so take it easy on me!! LOL I'll get better with it. LOL

Ducks with water are nice samples , other birds and flowers looks to me over exposed a bit. I agree with your observation CZJ vs Meyer.

The Sonnar 300 is a great lens, which is little talked about, but it stands well on the side of the more famous 180.
Sure it is not a lens to use hand-held, unless you are Schwartzenegger in his best fit Wink

You were the original poster on this lens. I hope my bidding did not interfere with you buying it! In any case I must thank you for drawing my attention to it. Dirty as it was when I received it , it is now a treasured lens.

This is oldest Olympic type lens it has worst image quality than latest MC and worst than zebra I think. 180mm Olympic can be outstanding , this one is not just an okay lens.

And me as well. I'd need Attila to loan me a newer one to compare as the cost of another is prohibitive. PM me Attila and I'll provide an address to send it to. LOL

Nice buy BD! Wonderful colors.

Yep, man who look like Arnold has no endurance, tires easily, those big quick-strong muscles need maintenance to avoid turning quickly to fat.
