I have the Tamron Ext Tube for this lens too, which then becomes true 1:1
Only handheld without flash, so the DOF is shallow, but in more talented hands, this lens would be hard to beat IMO

And you know how to work with them. Nice results. I was thinking about to get SP 90mm f2.8 (72B) which goes to 1:1 w/o tubes. But I read that it is tricky somehow. _________________ Shoot on analog mainly with

Yeah, I posted some test images with mine here. Also posted this one a while back:
Rosebud, Tamron 90/2.5 @ f/8, 100% crop:
Another 100% crop, this one of a bug on a rose petal. Exposure unrecorded, but probably f/8 @ flash sync.
I didn't use the 1:1 tc with either, so these were both 1:2 _________________ Michael

Maybe understand. Sometimes is hard to decide if one lens stay and another not. Sometimes apllies rules that better lens in focal length keep in. Cheers _________________ Shoot on analog mainly with

I've learned from past "mistakes" hopefully, and no longer do things like sell a lens just because I bought another that more-or-less duplicates it in terms of focal length and performance. Seems like, sooner or later, I've always regretted selling it, so I just don't do it anymore. _________________ Michael

Soren, I also have both the tube and the tele extender, and agree: it's pretty damn nice for regular shooting, I haven't felt the need to get one of those 85mm things... yet.

I have a dream to collect most the old adaptall-2 SP lenses because of the great quality. So far I have managed to have two 90mm (52B and 52BB) and the SP 500mm f/8 55B. _________________ Nikon D90 # Nikon D60 # 18-55 mm (Kit) # 55-200 mm VR # 50 mm f/1.8D # 80 mm f/1.8D # REFLEX-NIKKOR 50cm f/5 # Tamron Adaptall-2: SP 90mm f/2.5 52B # 90mm f/2.5 52BB # 2x SP x2 converter 01F # SP 18F Extension tube # SP 500mm f/8 55B # SP 70-210 f/3.5 19AH # SP 60-300mm F/3.8-5.4 23A # 80-210mm F/3.8-4 # 35-70mm f/3.5 17A SB-600 # Nikon - Extension set # Close up filtre +1,+2,+4,+10 # N/Ai Adaptall-2 adapter with Dandelion chip |
