Hello all! Just joined in Smile

Ok, to keep it short, Anyone with any knowledge about this lens?

Got negative find with Google.

I know that Makinon is not a celebrated brand, maybe the quality is so bad that people just don't buy their lenses anymore, or even remembers their stuff?

Hi minahasa, welcome to the forum.

That looks like a nice lens! A manual focus zoom with constant f/2.8 is not common imho.

One of the last lens made by makina (phase 2 or phase 2 ultra with makina words) = Quality must be good (not stellar but good)

Old makinon lenses were low to max medium quality
Last series were ok on quality

ALL makinon lenses are very very well built

Makina is underdog manufacturer. One of the best zooms i've tried was 3.5/80-200mm macro that looked like this: Click here to see on Ebay

It can't be seen from the ad that this is real beast.

Here's more pics

If I'm not mistaken, there's a Tamron Adaptall that resembles this lens specs. I can not give any sample shot yet, sill waiting for this lens, and International shipping could take 4 weeks to reach me.. Crying or Very sad

True but the tamron 35/105 2.8 adaptall (2) was a more recent lens and that lens is one-touch design.

I have two mirror lenses made by Makinon
300 5.6 medium quality (same quality as sigma 400/5.6)
http://forum.mflenses.com/sigma-5-6-400-catadioptric-t39033.html
but very very handy

500 8.0 very good quality / not very far from my ZUiko 500/8 (ps : i sell it)
http://forum.mflenses.com/makinon-500-8-mirror-lens-samples-t36828.html

+ the 1000mm 11 from makinon was very well quoted in a lens test

Correct. And I was referring to the optical specs since I don't see many lens with that kind of specs, do you? However, this lens physical form reminds me of Tokina AT-Xs

As far i can remember : all the 35/70 2.8 constant

Tokina ATX 35/70 2.8 = Two touch
Makinon 35/70 2.8 = Two touch
Olympus 35/80 2.8 = Two touch
Nikon 35/70 2.8 = Two touch
Pentax 35/70 2.8 = Two touch

Minolta/Fuji/Contax/Rollei NO 35.70/2.8
Kiron/Vivitar/CosinaSigma NO 35.70/2.8

You can find some non constant 35.70 with ~the same opening : Ie : Angenieux 2.5/3.3 (+- 1/2 stop from 2.8 constant) or Soligor/Tefnon/Cpc.. 35/70 2.5/3.5 (+- 1/2 stop from 2.8 constant) or different focal range : ie : Sigma 28/70

Thank you for sharing that knowledge, really appreciate that. I never know that there's soo many 35-70mm 2.8 around! Surprised

So I guess this Makinon 35-105 2.8 really is one strange lens.

For the 35/105 2.8
Makinon 35-105 2.8 2 touch
Tamron 35-105 2.8 One touch

AND THAT'S ALL FOLKS !
