1Ds MKIII + the Black Biotar [58mm/f2] + ISO 100 + varying shutter speeds + all handheld + minimal Lightroom tinkering ->

There are lenses and there are lenses.

Then, there are Legends.

The Black Biotar is a Legend amongst Legends.

Pretty smashing for a lens made in appx. 1950, huh?

I'm totally in love with #1!

Thanks mate! I actually didn't sell all my lenses - I kept the best of the best and take them out every once in awhile so they feed on light and give me wonderful paintings in return

I had two copies of the black biotar out of which i sold one to one of our members and i kept the other one for myself

So you also have never seen the heavy chromed brass versions? Mine is early postwar and obviously of a very high quality. Here it is, next to the aluminium one.

Yes, there are Biotars manufactured for the M mount ->

Click here to see on Ebay.de

Btw, if you throw in 100 bucks more, you'll get a very good conditioned Summicron 50 from the recent batch of manufacturing

Still the plan - I've been trying to do something nice for myself Laughing

Will update back in a few days if it worked out or not

If this works out, B&W the whole year it is!
