Any first-hand (direct) experience with these two rangefinder lenses?
I like what I could see on Flickr. I would like to know what users think of them from their use. _________________ Orio, Administrator

I have CV Nokton 1,4/40. It is quite sharp from the wide open, though bokeh is sometime busy.

ANd I am going to buy 1,8/75 this year, but not yet. I have to fix my M8's
finder first. _________________ Our Home Page has 18,200 photos in 575 directories today.

Thanks Koji. How is it focusing and setting apertures with this lens? Are the focusing and aperture rings easy to access? _________________ Orio, Administrator

Yes, it is relatively easy to access for the aperture. ALso it depends on
how big your fingers are.
Actually there are two ears like extentions on the aperture ring, so not
difficult to access.
It can focus to 0.7m, which is pretty good. Cosina's filter model is
LH-6 for this lens and Nokton 1,4/35 for the both. Filter's opening
has very close to 60mm diameter, so you can find a cap even though
it is an odd size only Leica is using so far.
But I put 60->62 step up ring, so I can find a 62mm cap easily. I like a cap
on the filer on these small lenses personally.

Hi Koji, how does the 35/1.4 and 40/1.4 compare wide open? I have used the 35/1.4 but not 40/1.4.
The 35/1.4 has excellent build quality, I think its build and focusing feel is actually better than a ZM lens. The ear on the aperture ring is also very assessable. The focusing tab is kind of a "love it or hate it" personal preference. |

CV Nokton 35/1.4 is slightly softer than Nokton 40/1.4. Anyway 40mm one
is always sharper to me, may be I got a dud.
35mm one has better bokeh to me, it is less busy at least. You can see my
