Maybe - but nor sure. I believe that the Leica Mirror isn´t poorer.

The Olympus mirror is very good too.
Edit : I have forgotten the orginal Canon mirror who is also not too bad.

I very much like the swan picture and the final picture I think makes fantastic use of the distinctive bokeh, great composition, the kind of shot I can never seem to "see" at the time. _________________ - Dave

Orio, my english is really ugly... ... I don't know if Leica/Minolta 500 mirror was better than Mirotar... I live in Florence, if someone have a Leica 500 around Tuscany we could try...
But I am really surprised seeing the quality of Mirotar. I bought two (new, from a failure) and the shots hanheld published are satisfaying for me, the lens is quite light and little. I'm sure that the Mirotar is a very good lens, it's a Zeiss after all. What I meant was that I was so happy with the Leica for the time that I had it, that I would not feel like changing if I ever had to buy a 500 mirror again.
The problem is that I am not a bird or moon shooter, and for every other use I find a 500mm lens too long. I have enough lenght for what I need with the 300mm of my Vario-Sonnar 100-300. _________________ Orio, Administrator
