Lucky you! I have trashed my copies not too long ago. Yes, I literally threw them away... Because of the bad corner performance (also visible in your photos).

However, it's a low cost lens and it can deliver lots of fun! Smile

Trashing lenses is indeed quite satisfying, but I meant that the Domiplan can be a lot of fun for everyone who isn't me Laughing Laughing

BTW, in the Dutch language "Dom" means "Stupid", very appropiate! Laughing

You are not allowed to love your lens. It is a Domiplan. People have been burned at the stake for expressing such feelings in the past. Because it is a Domiplan it is the worst lens in the world. Bar none.

Alternatively, you could try it, and enjoy whatever it brings.

Smile

My Domiplan isn't that bad, just got to pick and choose when to use it as in some situations it's low performance can dtreact from the image.

It's very small and light though, half the size and weight of a Helios-44 so the Domiplan does make a nice walking around lens for casual shots.

The Domiplan is not a mainstream lens - but it has an own character.

Not for landscape photography, but for near distance and portraiture you get this certain touch.
I must say that I like this lens. Very Happy

You see, you have fallen for it!!!! You are not listening to what everyone believes and accepting it blindly as the truth. Domiplan it BAD. Domiplan it BAD. Everone says so, so it must be true.

Personally, I have one and I have never tried it. I really must.

Very nice samples, especially first one! Congrats! My Domiplan also a pretty good one good as any other average 50mm lenses. I think this lens had NO quality control due budget level lens, every kind of variation is possible.

There were lots of Domiplan lenses sold with Exakta bayonet for Exa and even Exakta with external aperture aperture automatic function, not only M42 for Praktica.

Nice samples BTW.

I must admit that I have only used them as body caps, not as actual lenses.

You made nice pictures with them, despite the obvious lens faults.

Interesting results. Corner sharpness is soft but used properly this could be an advantage. It hasn't convinced me to buy one though. Laughing

It is a triplet lens and so there is nearly no CA visible.
Stopped down like my trioplans, it really gets sharp.
As mentioned before - no good landscape lens.

****i love my lens*****

Well I admire your effort to get good results from something like a Domiplan, but my thinking is:- if a shot is worth taking and you haven't any "super" expensive lenses, you can still use a better lens for just a few £££££s more. e.g. Meyer Oreston
