Lucky you! I have trashed my copies not too long ago. Yes, I literally threw them away... Because of the bad corner performance (also visible in your photos).

Trashing lenses is indeed quite satisfying, but I meant that the Domiplan can be a lot of fun for everyone who isn't me
BTW, in the Dutch language "Dom" means "Stupid", very appropiate! _________________ Peter - Moderator

You are not allowed to love your lens. It is a Domiplan. People have been burned at the stake for expressing such feelings in the past. Because it is a Domiplan it is the worst lens in the world. Bar none.
Alternatively, you could try it, and enjoy whatever it brings.

My Domiplan isn't that bad, just got to pick and choose when to use it as in some situations it's low performance can dtreact from the image.
It's very small and light though, half the size and weight of a Helios-44 so the Domiplan does make a nice walking around lens for casual shots. |

Not for landscape photography, but for near distance and portraiture you get this certain touch.
I must say that I like this lens.

You see, you have fallen for it!!!! You are not listening to what everyone believes and accepting it blindly as the truth. Domiplan it BAD. Domiplan it BAD. Everone says so, so it must be true.
Personally, I have one and I have never tried it. I really must. |

There were lots of Domiplan lenses sold with Exakta bayonet for Exa and even Exakta with external aperture aperture automatic function, not only M42 for Praktica.
Nice samples BTW. |

Stopped down like my trioplans, it really gets sharp.

Well I admire your effort to get good results from something like a Domiplan, but my thinking is:- if a shot is worth taking and you haven't any "super" expensive lenses, you can still use a better lens for just a few £££££s more. e.g. Meyer Oreston _________________ Canon A1, AV1, T70 & T90, EOS 300 and EOS300v, Chinon CE and CP-7M. Contax 139, Fuji STX-2, Konica Autoreflex TC, FS-1, FT-1, Minolta X-700, X-300, XD-11, SRT101b, Nikon EM, FM, F4, F90X, Olympus OM2, Pentax S3, Spotmatic, Pentax ME super, Praktica TL 5B, & BC1, , Ricoh KR10super, Yashica T5D, Bronica Etrs, Mamiya RB67 pro AND drum roll:- a Sony Nex 3
.........past gear Tele Rolleiflex and Rollei SL66.
Many lenses from good to excellent. |
