Jupiter 37A 135,Industar-61 LZ MC 50 new members of my bag..

Hi,
After seeing lot of great results, I tried.. and eventually win these 2 lens (today only.. will be getting in a week time),
Jupiter 37A 135
Industar-61 LZ MC 50

I am sure, Jupiter is not MC.. as its not written on the lens marking, but what surprised me, the lens numbering starts from 84xxx.. does it mean, USSR lenses were single coating till that late... (as we know, '84-85 was really end of USSR, not '89-90 as historically considered Wink )

I got interested in Indus for its macro capabilities. Although, not that great, but still handy. I have some Tamron zoom, which goes to reasonable magnification, still not that handy...

And I am paying a buck or more above $55 including S&H... How is this price for both?
How are these lenses... In bokeh and real life examples. I have multiple 135mm (Fast: f2.5.. Saturation and sharp: Tak 135mm.. Handy: tak 135mm preset...)
And about 50mm, no point of writing, as I will never able to find... will never try too..

OH, I got my 37A for ~$35.

I was not planning any more buy.. but eventually did for some reasons..
I really wanted some 10+ blades Iris in 100+ focal range for portrait purposes. After seeing in some lenses (Jupiter-9 and yours Nikon 200mm Wink), my wife wants the same bokeh effect in all the family pics/portraits Laughing
Didnt have any other option..
And really didnt want to pay some extra money for more 50mm and 135mm range..

You bought them for good price, I paied this sum only for Industar. I like Industar pretty much even compare with Kiron 105mm,Nikkor-P 105mm and Tamron SP 90. Jupiter 137A also an excellent lens I can compare with Nikkor 135mm AI,Nikkor-Q 135mm, Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 135mm, Carl Zeiss Tessar 135mm,Pentacon 135mm ,Takumar 135mm, Tamron SP zooms. You can find pictures taken with above lenses include Jupiter-137 and Industar in http://mflenses.com/gallery. In my order Jupiter 137A is equal than above lenses, Industar little weaker, but the price also much lower.

Ballu. the Jupiter-37A has always been available in both MC and non-MC versions. This is still the same with the updated 37-AM version - it's an optional extra. You have the same variety as me and I am delighted with mine.

This lens is still being made in Russia today. A new Jup-37AM (non-MC) costs $65 + S&H on its own. http://www.rugift.com/photocameras/lens-jupiter-37am.htm so I think you made a good bargain.

But the single coating on the Jupiter is very good. Remember my Christmas series, the choir portraits? They were all taken with a single coated J-37 AM without lens hood.

A good price, you often find the Industar alone sold for a similar sum.
You will not regret the expenses.

I rate my Jupiter-37s at the top of my lenses scale.
And please note I have the Nikkor, Zeiss and Carl Zeiss equivalents in that focal range.
And these are all great lenses. But the Jupiter is up with them. Not for the bokeh though. The bokeh of the CZ Sonnar 2.8/135 is unbeatable. But it's also a lens which easily costs 5 to 10 times more the Jupiter.
Second for bokeh comes the CZJ 3.5/135m, it beats the Jup on bokeh but loses in the clarity (read resolvance) department.
I don't have the Industar but other guys here do so I let them talk.
As for real life examples of the Jup-37, I can only point you to my Christmas gallery:

industar is great little lens and i found it pretty sharp

is it correct 16 as focus adjustment ?

i think that the value is the same for any Max Aperture (the FL is not important)...

with 2.8/100, 2.8/135, 2.8/35, 2.8/50, 2.8/200 etc -> 00

with apertures such: 2.4,3.5,1.4...there are some problems...

with planar 1.7 somebody use 26
with planar 1.4 now i am using 26
with jupiter 3.5/135 -> 27

i must do tests!

Congratulations! Those are excellent lenses.
If your interested look up a lens Volna - 9 it`s basically the same as the Industar ,however the minimum focus range is a bit better than the Industar`s.
