I used to take moon shot handheld. The drawback was lower IQ since high ISO (>1600) and high speed (<1/1200 sec) used. This time I put the gear on a newly purchased tripod with ball head, and I was able to lower the ISO to 100 and shutter speed to 1/100 sec. The result is better than before.

I used a Beroflex 500mm 1:8 with a Soligor MP 2x Teleconverter (C/Y) to mount on Canon Rebel T2i via a C/Y to EOS adapter.

Cool picture. Nice to know you have the same combination. I guess Beroflex is a native German brand, probably easily accessible to you guys in Germany.

Great shots Smile I presume these lenses are from the same series as the 300/5.6, 400/6.3, 450/8 and 500/8 also branded as Spiratone, Prinz Galaxy, Optomax etc.

Well done too! But 1/20sec is already too slow for a fast-moving (yes!) subject like the moon. I'd advise at least 1/125s for the sharpest results (and there's no reason 1/125s is not possible).
