Nice shoots from great models Smile especially the funny middle picture , what blue eyes! Did you scan from printed photo? I guess not from negative...

WOW, your daughter has mesmerizing eyes!

I really like picture 1. because she's able to look at the camera without making you think she's looking at the camera (re-reading, I don't know if the remark makes any sense at all. I just wanted to say she looks natural).

When I showed her the scan yesterday her first remark was that she hadn't brushed her hair! That's teenagers for you!

And that's part of the reasons why she looks natural IMO.

What's impressed me is that I've just been able to let the scanner work on auto-exposure, making no manual adjustments - there isn't even much need to adust levels, contrast or colours in photoshop.

I have the same scanner. I am quite happy about it. So far however I have not been able to scan the Agfa Record 6x9 film, the scanner cuts it 6x6, I hope that Laurence's frame will help me about that.

I read that the 4990 has even better resolution features, but it was too expensive for my budget. So I settled with the 4490. Should I, however, shoot al lot more film in the future than I am doing now, I will consider the 4990.

Steve, you are getting great results from the scanner. Mine are not as good. I need to practice more.

Ah OK so I don't have to practice THAT hard Laughing

these were scanned from film though:

Love the B&W portrait - and I like this Ilford 400 + Rodinal combination.

Very nice shots Steve. It's easy to understand why you like so much your 85 1.4
How fast is the 4490, do you use low resolution.
Your photographies are very clean.
Do you have to fix all small scratch from negative or is the 4490 good at that.

These shots, all of them, are absolutely fantastic! Well done!

Your kids were (and are) very pretty and you managed to capture excellent expressions! A big "WOW"!
