Fog Forest - Velvia

I was hiking up a mildly foggy hillside, not following a trail or
anything, just wandering around using my compass. There were
a lot of mossy rocks, but this larger rock caught my eye. No
"post processing" here, pretty much as I saw it. Nothing fancy,
but it was still nice and green.

It was interesting that day. If I looked up, the bit of fog reduced
the saturation, but looking toward the ground, the saturation
was naturally increased by the filtered light.

Great scenery, Larry. Wow, you really live in a paradise-on-earth!
Perhaps a little reduction of exposure (1/3rd or 1/2 stop) could help with the colours and the "solidity" of the scene as well.

Thanks very much you guys. Very Happy I always appreciate any kind of
comment.

Orio, I really appreciated suggestions such as yours. This enables me to
try to optimize an image. That is very valuable.

I will work on this a little later today, and then resubmit to see if I have
understood your suggestion for this image. I haven't done anything to
the image, so I may find some way in Photoshop to manage your
welcome suggestions. Thank you. Cool

Thank you two also, poilu and KDS! I am going to work on the image a
little, to see if I bring a bit more "mass" to the colors, and maybe knock
it down a 1/2 stop or so. I'll post results here, good or bad. Laughing

Orio, I finally got around to reducing exposure, putting a Curve into the
image, and warming it slightly. Here is the result:

Here's the first image again:

Woo Hoo! THANKS for the suggestions! I have them side-by-side
on Photoshop right now, and the one I took your suggestion on, is
definitely more like what the light was showing in that forest. The
Curves changed the light enough to give the moss on the big rock a
much more "true to life" color. Thanks so much! That's one of the
"perks" of this forum.

Oh...Attila...yes, there WAS, in fact, a group of Velociraptors just
downhill from my position. I could hear them making those chilling
squeaks, and their small sharp teeth clicking together. The only thing
that saved me was that a baby Duck-Bill Dinosaur caught their
attention. They made a lot of noise tearing the Duck-Bill apart, and I
took that opportunity to get the heck out of there. Shocked
