The new movie of François Gaillard and Christophe Robin, produced by Le chat qui fume, was shot with the 5d and different Carl Zeiss MF lenses (planar 50/1.4, planar 85/1.4, flek 35/2.4 etc...)
This is a giallo, very gore and erotic. Here is the first screener Smile

Hmm,

I don't know... it seems kinda cheap to me. It looks like it was shot in the 70s, and I don't like such a glowy-look. Don't liked the Lighting.
I don't want to flame, but with a 5D you can get a movie with a much better visual production value Sad

Cheap voyeurism and stupid sick. And the quality of the lenses does not show, for that matter.

Hmm

Looks like some version of 'art' movie shot on cheap 8mm stock, does no justice to camera, lenses or even the theme...

Rather sad effort really?

Basic things: THe audio sounds like a porno, there is no character development or story of any kind. Porno's have more character than this. Is the girl frightened? This is supposed to be the teaser for you film, what's the setup?

Was she waiting for a lover that she mistakes for this guy? Is she a sick fetishist that hires this guy to kill her? What the hell is the character motivation?

Also You have a naked woman in a bed, make the audience get intimate with her, you are in no way making this erotic. Do close ups of her lips, her breathing, her eyes. Put the camera above her shoulder, crank the f/ wide open and focus down her back. Aside from one shot above her, every single shot is parallel to her body, it's distancing, medical. If you want something erotic, you have to show intimacy with your subject.

Also, the "Glam Gore" text was just atrociously over the top and made me laugh when it came up.

Hrm . . . think I'll resist clicking on the "finished" one. Made the mistake of clicking on the first one. Question, though -- isn't it the 5D II that would have to have been used? The 5D doesn't do video, does it?

You should click on the link. The trailer is MUCH MUCH better than the first teaser (the scene of the teaser doesn't appear on the film).
We're actually finishing the sound mixing (lot of work) but the image and the cut is finished Very Happy
I'm really proud of this production Cool

I don't know what to say... this trailer has been watched about 9000 times and i just have excellent feedback from everywhere except here, including from people working in horror movies since the beguinning of Hammer films. The movie is already taken in 3 international festivals (and there's a big one...).
You should understand that whith your camera you can do other things that picturing birds, flowers and grand'mas Laughing

In fairness to you Heathcliff I think it should be said.
The genre of this film is not likely within the scope of appreciation of 99.9% of our membership.
Surely you understand.......We just don't understand.

I was maybe a bit harsh in my earlier assessment, and for that I'm sorry.

That everybody here gave negative critic to your short film is only our personal opinions.
Video as well as stills images and paintings are all in the eye of the beholder.
That you have received positive feedback from others just proves that it is liked by a certain viewing audience. Take both negative & positive critic to help you move forward to higher levels in your chosen field. I wish you all the best in your future ventures.
