impressive series, cellebrating b&w at highest level. Nice alteration to the common flowers shots posted here

yes, many thanks for something different and abstract. really like textures in these, esp 3. ive always felt that using b&w is essentially a textural choice and you demonstrate that beautifully.

Thank you very much. I feel that way too about BW.

Nice work Marty, they somehow feel like images from the 60s.

Thanks for stopping by, Orio. In my personal opinion I think it's a peculiarity of the BW media to render the subjects in a timeless way. Sometimes I try to remember what attracted me towards black & white in first instance, and seems to be just for this reason. It has a graphical, or textural. quality that goes straight to the core of the things, which is possibly immutable, and is maybe for this reason that shows them timeless.

Cheers, M.

Love the grain, tones, lighting, and textures, well done, Marty! Microphen
is yet another I need to try.

Nice abstracts. Are you going to print a few?

Thank you, Bill and Martin.
Bill, Microphen is my brew of choice for pushing ever since. I find it extracts the max from the shadows without overdoing the highlights while keeping under control the grain. Lately I decided to give it a try around nominal speed and did work quite nicely retaining the characteristics I appreciate in it when pushing. To tell all the truth I was expecting a bit less grain but despite that I'm not disappointed at all.
Martin, these are scanned from the prints on RC paper.

Cheers, M.
